sunsets at the beach

My little brother and his bride.
Treasure Island, Florida

Our tenth anniversary weekend. Nature graced us with this gorgeous sunset before we headed out for a nighttime cruise on the Gulf of Mexico.

Our first Pacific coast sunset. Santa Monica Beach, California

thrift finds

All bought at a little shop tucked away alongside an alley.

More paper.
November 1969 issue of Yankee magazine. Same year as the Ladies Home Journals. Their pages will look very nice together.

A variety of gift tags, notecards, notepads, seals and stickers. Love little packets like this. Everything will get used. :o)

1943 Tabers Cyclopedic Medical Dictionary . Second edition. Already in my library, the 1986 15th edition.

This tissue case is lovely. It sits on my dresser and will be used for travel.

treasures

If I'm not in a rush and in the area of a thrift shop I'll pop in for a look around. Never know what I'm going to find. Every once in a while I come across something that makes my heart flutter. Had one of those days this week. All 12 months of 1969 Ladies Home Journal. Never read. No pages folded back on any of them. Everything intact. A happy day that was!
All this paper ~> the pictures, the ads, the coupons ~> amazing!
Definitely a step back in time!

Each issue includes the feature Line-A-Day / Meal-A-Day. The Pineapple-Chicken Waldorf Salad for March 26th sounds simple & yummy!

Yup, old paper makes me a very happy girl indeed.

Think I'll go sit with a glass of red wine, that stack of Journal
and head on back to nineteen sixty-nine.....

following my creative path

I create collage art. I love, love, love paper and glue. What joy they bring me. I've spent many hours working away in an itty bitty art studio we were able to make room for five years ago.  And now recently I've acquired a new workroom. A space with a peaceful view out a big window, warm sunlight streaming in.

My first project to work on is for my mom. She's given me a sizeable frame to work with and keepsakes from her time spent in South America this past summer.

Her paper tells me a story.
I just follow along on her adventure.
*****
and I am truly enjoying this journey.....
